I’ve known you since high school and all the good times
We grew up together and it sure felt fine
But now all I have is your memory
And it burned out a place where you used to be
You say time will heal all and I hope you are right
Because it’s even harder to forget.......when I sing about it every night

We’ve been together so long but now your gone
I forget to forget so I’ve got to be strong
I keep looking for someone to take your place
But the harder I try the more I see your face
I’m not strong enough to change my state of mind

Then everything came in focus through my tears
And you should not fear things you could not hear
With words I painted a monument for you
Now I’ve got a pocket full of songs with no one to sing them to
If I wouldn’t flash back then I would be alright
